I feel that there is too much fake news circulating on social media and then causing people to believe false stories about certain situations and people. My goals are to inform people on how to spot fake news and how to avoid it. What FN can do and has been doing to people over time. By studying how FN is accumulated, one can easily compare what is real and what is not. Getting to the bottom of FN and giving people tips on how to spot FN.
How will informing people help them identify and avoid fake news?
Fake news grew in popularity because people started developing an appetite for it. As time passed people became hungry for fake news(Kerwick, 2017).
It has made people believe fake information about highly respected people and businesses. People believe most of what they read on the internet and think that it's the truth (Kerwick, 2017).
To help clear up misconceptions about public figures or businesses. To keep people informed on reality and real issues instead of making them believe false things (Wendling, 2018).
By informing people about fake news it helped them recognize it easily. This indeed helped to stop them from believing fake stories and chatter on social media which wasn't true. It made them aware and then this caused that they don't accidentally share fake news or easily believe everything they read without doing some personal research.
