Which apps and hardware work with Windows 10 S?

I bought an app on another Windows 10 PC. Can I use it on my Windows 10 S PC?
Apps purchased from the Windows Store are linked to your Microsoft account. In most cases, if you install an app from the Windows Store on another Windows 10 PC, you should be able to install it on your Windows 10 S PC as long as you sign in with the same Microsoft account.
Are there any defaults that I cannot change on my Windows 10 S PC?
Yes, Microsoft Edge is the default web browser on Microsoft 10 S. You are able to download another browser that might be available from the Windows Store, but Microsoft Edge will remain the default if, for example, you open an .htm file. Additionally, the default search provider in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer cannot be changed.
What happens if I need to use an app that is not compatible with Windows 10 S?
If you try to use an app that is not available in the Windows Store , you will see a reminder that apps used with Windows 10 S must come from the Windows Store. In some instances, you may also see a suggestion for a category of similar apps or a specific app that is already available in the Windows Store. How will I know if an app or device becomes compatible?
Compatible apps and devices will continue to grow over time. For the most up-to-date information, you can always check back at this website, in the Windows Store or with the hardware or software manufacturer.If you absolutely need to use an app or device that’s not compatible, it is easy to switch to Windows 10 Pro. How do I switch to Windows 10 Pro on my Windows 10 S PC?
You can switch to Windows 10 Pro easily at any time through the Windows Store for an affordable price; payment is collected through the Windows Store.
To learn more or switch to Windows 10 Pro, select the Start button, then select Settings > Update & security > Activation. Under Upgrade your edition of Windows, select Go to Store.
Switching to Pro is one-way. If you make the switch, you won’t be able to go back to Windows 10 S.
